You need one IPTV connection for each device that will stream at the same time. Count the screens that are watching at your household's busiest moment, not the number of devices you own. Most singles and couples need 1–2 connections; families usually need 3; larger or shared homes need 4–5.
Connections vs devices
A household often has several screens: the living-room TV, a bedroom TV, phones and laptops. The connection count is about how many of them are streaming at the same moment.
So a couple with three TVs and two phones who always watch together needs one connection. A couple who often watch different things in different rooms needs two.
How to count your connections
Think of the busiest evening of your week and ask:
- Which screens are on at the same time?
- Does anyone watch on a phone or tablet while the TV is on?
- Will anyone watch away from home, at the gym, in the car (as a passenger) or at a second home, while others watch at home?
The highest number you reach is your connection count.

Per screen, more connections cost less. Five connections on 12 months works out to about $3.05 per screen per month, compared with $6.25 for one.
Tips
- Round up if in doubt. Hitting the limit mid-match is frustrating.
- Signing out isn't needed. Just stop playback on one device before starting another.
- Plan for guests and holidays. If family visits often, an extra connection keeps everyone happy.
